The problem

Every time Real Beams worked on their Sage accounts, they were faced with a mammoth task. They had to go through every Amazon transaction in Sage, find which order it was in Amazon, set the correct category in Sage and VAT rate, and finally download the tax invoice from Amazon and attach it to the transaction in Sage. Doing this one by one was repetitive and took a very long time.

The same applies for their main shipping platform Interparcel. With many shipments booked each week, they would have to find the correct statement on Interparcel and download the tax invoice file to attach it.

What we built

A tool that allows Real Beams to import some bulk files that we showed them how to download from Amazon. This tool then will automatically decide on the correct category and VAT rate for each item/order, find the correct tax invoice file, and then import this into Sage. All that’s left for Real Beams to do is go into their Sage transactions and match them to the imported ones, which takes overwhelmingly less time.

We did the same for Interparcel, grabbing the correct invoice file and then importing into Sage. As with Amazon, all that’s left is to match them up.

Why it matters

This small piece of software saves Real Beams many hours every month and removes a task that was painstaking and soul-sucking, allowing their staff to focus on what really matters: running their business, creating their fireplace mantels, and delivering for their customers.
